Kickstarting Next Generation of Radiation Researchers: The Launch of a Thriving Community

The inaugural event of the Next Generation of Radiation Researchers (NGenR2) community has officially set the tone for a vibrant and collaborative journey ahead. On the 11th of September, young researchers from diverse fields of radiation research gathered to connect, share ideas, and lay the groundwork for this exciting new initiative.

Our first meeting was a casual yet inspiring "Greet & Meet session", featuring a fun match-card game that encouraged participants to connect and interact, with drinks and snacks to fuel lively discussions. The event gave the opportunity for networking, sharing ideas, and discovering the vision and upcoming plans of NGenR2.

The energy in the room was palpable as early-career professionals interacted, sharing not only their research interests but also their hopes for what NGenR2 can achieve. Many expressed enthusiasm for the community as a way to foster collaboration, mentorship, and innovation within the field of radiation research.

Highlights of the Evening

Networking Galore: Attendees seized the opportunity to meet peers from various institutions and disciplines.

Vision Sharing: The NGenR2 organizers outlined their goals, emphasizing the importance of creating a supportive community for young researchers.

Relaxed Vibes: Over delicious snacks and refreshing drinks, everyone enjoyed conversations that were as much about building connections as about science.

Looking Ahead

This is just the beginning for NGenR2. Future events promise to explore cutting-edge topics in radiation research, skill-building webinars, and a variety of exciting activities to further foster collaboration and innovation.

We’re thrilled to see such a strong start to our journey and can’t wait to grow together as a community. If you missed this first meeting, don’t worry—there’s plenty more to come. Stay tuned!
